A company in Humboldt has pleaded guilty to one violation under the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations.

Brockman Enterprises pleaded guilty in Humboldt Provincial Court on June 27.

The charges fall under the contravening clause of being an employer, failing to comply with the duties of an employer at a place of employment including arrangements for the use, handling, storage and transport of articles and substances in a manner that protects the health and safety of the workers, resulting in the serious injury of a worker.

The company was fined $57,142.86, with a surcharge of $22,857.14, totalling exactly $80,000. Two other charges were originally included, however, they’ve since been withdrawn.
