Broncos' Bell commits

Humboldt Bronco Spencer Bell commits to St. Lawrence

Mar 1, 2024 | 12:00 PM

A major force for the Humboldt Broncos has committed to a NCAA Division 1 team.

20-year-old Spencer Bell has committed to St. Lawrence University, and will become a Saint in 2024/25.

St Lawrence University is located in Canton, NY and competes in the ECAC division.

Bell’s final season of Junior A hockey has been a big one. He leads the SJHL in goals with 40 in just 49 games this season. He is second in the league in points with 75.

“We’re extremely proud of Spencer. He has earned this opportunity through and through. He is one of the hardest working players I’ve had in my time both on and off the ice,” said Head Coach and GM, Scott Barney in a news release on the Humboldt Broncos website.

“He’s been the most consistent Bronco, game in and game out this season. His skating has popped this year which is due to the immense amount of work he puts in. His shot is elite, and his net front presence and knack for finding the back of the net is second to none. In my opinion he was the most deserving SJHL’er to secure an NCAA Division I Commitment that didn’t already have one, and now were very happy for him that he does.” Barney said.
