The Melfort Mustangs’ 10 game winning streak is catching national attention.

The Mustangs have climbed four spots and are now ranked number three in the Canadian Junior Hockey League’s Top 20 rankings.

Melfort won both games against the La Ronge Ice Wolves on the weekend, with a chippy 6-2 home-ice win on Friday, and an 8-0 whitewash in La Ronge on Saturday.

The Mustangs are now 21-4-0-0 on the season and lead the SJHL standings by nine points. Melfort will look to extend their winning streak with a home-and-home against the Humboldt Broncos this weekend, starting with Friday night’s game at the Northern Lights Palace.
