Suspects sought in break and enter, stolen vehicle cases

Jun 3, 2026 | 2:39 PM

Melfort RCMP are looking for information on a pair of recent cases.

A break and enter at a storage compound happened just after 10 p.m. on May 26, when two men broke into four storage units and stole items from them.

One of the men is described as tall with a large build and was wearing shorts and a black t-shirt with a large white logo on the back.

The other was slender and shorter.

They were driving a blue 1999-2007 Ford F-250 Super Crew pickup truck with silver trim, and a passerby in a 2000s black Ford F-150 stopped and pulled them out of the ditch.

Police are looking for the two suspects and would like to talk to the person in the truck that helped them out to see if they can help identify the suspects.

Meanwhile, on May 24, RCMP were called about a man and woman in possession of a stolen vehicle from the Carrot River area.

That afternoon, the two walked into a business in Melfort after parking a stolen vehicle in their parking lot.

The two then left in another vehicle after dumping the stolen vehicle.

Anyone who can identify the man and woman in this case, or the two men suspected of breaking into storage lockers, can contact Melfort RCMP at 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
