Nipawin Elks and Royal Purple exhibition booths vandalized

Jul 3, 2026 | 2:42 PM

A disappointing development in Nipawin, as vandals have struck the Nipawin Elks and Royal Purple.

“Just a few short weeks ago, three incredible ladies volunteered their time, energy, and hard work to give our fair booths a fresh coat of purple paint in preparation for the upcoming exhibition,” the organization explained in a social media post. “They spent hours making this space something our community could be proud of.”

Unfortunately, their sacrifice was met with graffiti on the booths.

“To see our building covered in graffiti is incredibly disheartening.”

The non-profit puts every volunteer hour, and dollar raised, back into the community, they said. The organization added that they build amenities, support local programs, create opportunities for children, and work hard to make Nipawin a better place for everyone.

“It is heartbreaking that someone would choose to destroy something that was created through the kindness and dedication of volunteers,” they stated. “What’s even sadder is that one day, the very people responsible may need the support, programs, or services that our organization provides.

“This isn’t just paint on a wall. It’s the time of volunteers. It’s community pride. It’s respect for one another.”

The organization vows to clean up the graffiti and move forward to do what they do best – supporting the community.

Anyone with information on the vandalism can contact 310-RCMP or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

“To our amazing volunteers: thank you. Your hard work mattered, and it still does. We are incredibly grateful for everything you do.”
