Man charged with murdering infant in Melfort has preliminary hearing set

A preliminary hearing has been set for a man accused of killing an infant in Melfort last December.
The man faces a second-degree murder charge and will have a preliminary hearing Dec. 8.
Melfort RCMP received a report of an infant in medical distress at a home in the city on Dec. 24, 2025.
Officers responded and found EMS working on the infant under one year of age.
