Road projects in Wakaw area underway as other work reaches finish line

Motorists in the Wakaw area could be affected by a couple of road projects.

Over 17 km of Highway 2, between Wakaw and Cudworth, is being rebuilt, along with the replacement of two culverts. That will be followed by paving. Grading work is underway and the Ministry of Highways expects that project to wrap up by the end of 2027.

About $2.7 million is being invested in the improvement of six kilometres of Highway 2 north of Wakaw. Work began in May and paving has now been completed. The final project completion is expected this fall.

Highways Minister Kim Gartner said it’s important to ensure you obey the rules of the road.
