Tobin Lake gets $70,000 to prepare for future extreme weather
The Resort Village of Tobin Lake is getting $70,000 to help prepare for weather-related emergencies.
The funding is part of more than $34 million being provided by the Government of Canada to support 141 municipal climate adaptation projects across the country through the Green Municipal Fund’s Local Leadership for Climate Adaptation initiative.
Tobin Lake is the only Saskatchewan community listed under the initiative’s “Climate-ready plans and processes” category.
The resort village will use the money to develop a Climate Adaptation Plan aimed at identifying its highest-risk areas and determining how it can better prepare for future weather-related disasters.
