Tisdale seeking new Director of Public Works

Aug 19, 2026 | 12:10 PM

The Town of Tisdale is looking for a new Director of Public Works.

Chief Administrative Officer Lovely Magnaye told northeastNOW that current director Mike Kuras has resigned from the position; his last day was on Friday.

She said the position is vital for the Town of Tisdale.

“This senior management position oversees staff, infrastructure, capital projects, budgets, emergency response, and long-term asset management, while ensuring the delivery of safe, reliable, and efficient municipal services,” Magnaye said.

The job description stated that the position “requires a leader who is equally comfortable developing strategic plans and working alongside crews in the field when operational needs arise.”

Among the director’s duties is to plan, coordinate, and oversee roads, streets, and sidewalks, along with drainage systems, signage, snow removal, and infrastructure maintenance. Duties also include overseeing water and wastewater utilities, regional landfill operations, and infrastructure and asset management. Candidates must also be familiar with being in a leadership and administrative role, while prioritizing safety among staff.

Magnaye said the opportunity to join a growing community like Tisdale is enticing to any applicant.

“Tisdale is not just a place to live and work. It is a place where you can build something, belong to something, and help shape what’s next,” Magnaye said. “As a community, Tisdale has a strong agricultural identity, an entrepreneurial spirit, incredible recreation opportunities, and most importantly people who genuinely care about where they live.”

The job opening has been posted on Tisdale’s website, social media pages, and on various employment websites. Magnaye said the position will remain open until the right candidate is found.
