Two woman charged after guns found in stolen SUV in Nipawin

Officers activated their emergency equipment and approached the SUV with their police vehicle, and a man and two women exited. One of the women and the man ran away on foot. Police managed to arrest both women, but the male suspect has not been located.

Three firearms, ammunition, and a mask were found inside the SUV and seized. 

The vehicle was previously reported stolen from Prince Albert. 

45-year-old Genevieve McKay from Carrot River and 37-year-old Stephanie Harris from Cumberland House each face nine theft and firearms charges in connection to the investigation. 

McKay was additionally charged with two counts of failure to comply with release order conditions and one count of resisting/obstructing a police officer, and she was also arrested on an outstanding warrant. 

The investigation continues, including the attempt to apprehend the other suspect.
