Former school bus driver to spend nearly six years in jail following sexual assault

Sep 10, 2026 | 4:48 PM

A former North East School Division (NESD) bus driver who pleaded guilty of sexual assault has been sentenced.

The man, who was relieved of his duties after the charges came to light, will spend nearly six years in jail. He pleaded guilty prior to his trial that was slated to begin in July, and two other counts were stayed.

The incident was relayed to northeastNOW after a parent in Choiceland received a letter from the school division in March 2025 saying that a bus driver that had been employed was relieved of his duties.

The offense was unrelated to his duties with NESD.
