Fire in Melfort, accident near Nipawin keep local first responders busy

There is not much left of a truck and skid steer that were destroyed by a fire early Monday morning.

Around 1:45 a.m., Melfort Fire Department received reports of some vehicles on fire on Burrows Avenue East. They found the pickup truck and skid steer fully engulfed in flames. Crews set up a quick attack and were able to contain the blaze to just the two vehicles. The incident marked the fire department’s 100th call of the year so far.

The cause of the fire was not disclosed.
