Melfort’s Logan Ferland up for CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman

Oct 31, 2024 | 10:12 AM

More accolades for Saskatchewan Roughrider offensive lineman Logan Ferland.

The Melfort native was named the West Division’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman.

Ferland started all 18 regular season games, and the natural guard helped fill in at tackle and centre after the offensive line was struck by injuries.

The 27-year-old Melfort Comets and Regina Thunder alum was part of a line that allowed just 35 quarterback sacks, and helped the Riders score the most points and touchdowns in the West Division this season.

Ferland and Ryan Hunter of the Toronto Argonauts were nominated for the CFL’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award that will be presented Nov. 14.

Rolan Milligan Jr. of the Riders is the West Division’s nominee for Most Outstanding Defensive Player, after he led the league with eight sacks. He will be matched up with the Alouettes’ Tyrice Beverette.

Saskatchewan Head Coach Corey Mace and Montreal’s Jason Maas were nominated for Coach of the Year.

The Roughriders will host the BC Lions Saturday in the West Division Semi-Final.
