House fire in Melfort

House on Melfort’s south side seriously damaged by fire

A sad situation ahead of the Christmas season in Melfort.

The Melfort Fire Department was called to a house fire on Regent St. on a chilly Sunday morning.

When crews arrived, thick smoke was billowing from the structure.

Thankfully, everyone managed to get out of the house, and the owner was also able to get their dog out of the kennel.

There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
