Celebrating agriculture in Saskatchewan

Oct 6, 2026 | 3:41 PM

Saskatchewan is celebrating Agriculture Week from Oct. 4 to 10, recognizing the people and innovations that drive the sector.

“Agriculture is a way of life, driven by the hard work, innovation and resilience of those who produce our food,” Agriculture Minister David Marit said. “Agriculture Week is an opportunity to recognize farmers, ranchers and agri-businesses for their contributions at home and globally.”

Each year, the week brings together those in the agriculture industry and consumers to share stories, foster understanding and highlight the strength and resilience of the agricultural community.

The theme #CelebrateAg encourages conversations about where food comes from and the people behind it.

Farm & Food Care Executive Director Clinton Monchuk said through a mix of online campaigns, community events and activities, Agriculture Week bridges the gap between producers and consumers.

“Saskatchewan farmers and ranchers work hard every day to grow safe, nutritious food for people here and around the world,” Monchuk said. “Agriculture Week is a chance to have honest conversations with consumers about how food is produced and to really celebrate the people and food from this amazing industry.”

You can get involved in Agriculture Week by posting with the hashtag #CelebrateAg, downloading and sharing Agriculture Week graphics, and taking part in the month-long Farm & Food Care photo contest.
