To take action, Two-Spirit youth leaders have been working with FSIN to plan a Two-Spirit Gathering in Saskatoon, SK on November 12 & 13, 2019.
This will be the first ever Two-Spirit Gathering of this scale of participants in Saskatchewan made possible through the support received from Indigenous Service Canada, FNIHB Saskatchewan Region. FSIN is expecting over 300 attendees at TCU place – that will include 150 First Nations youth from First Nations bands across the province and 150 spots open for online public registration.
The 2S Gathering’s anticipated outcomes are:
1) Task a research team to develop a research project targeting Two-Spirit youth issues in Saskatchewan
2) Calls to action, and potentially a resolution/declaration for the support of Two Spirit peoples and to take action on Two-Spirit youth issues that are impacting our communities
3) Build a support network for Two-Spirit youth to work together and stay connected in Saskatchewan
