Melfort Trade Alliance getting ready for Mardi Gras on Main

The Melfort Trade Alliance (MTA) continues to gear up for their ode to New Orleans.

Mardi Gras on Main will be held at the Historic Post Office Feb. 29.

MTA Chair Tyler Fahlman told northeastNOW the organization is excited to put on the event.

“We’re bringing in some really good, talented musicians to play,” Fahlman said. “It is going to be a really good party, there really isn’t any other chance in the Melfort….area to have a night of really good music with good friends and a bunch of drinks and a bunch of laughs, so it will be a lot of fun.”

Tickets are $55 each, and can be purchased at George Home Hardware and Northern Lights Gallery.

The alliance also held another networking night Tuesday, Feb. 11. Fahlman said the evening went well, but the turnout was a little lighter due to the cold weather.

The MTA also confirmed they are holding another Touch a Truck event this summer, with several other events in the works.

“We’re not quite ready to say exactly what they are yet just because they haven’t been 100 per cent nailed down,” Fahlman said.

He said their board members are full of really ambitious people, and they will reach out to local businesses within the next few weeks with their general plans and directions for the next year.
