Tisdale Twisters to host gymnastics Fun Meet

The Tisdale Twister Gymnastics Club will be wrapping up their season on June 1 with a Fun Meet at the club.

According to Fun Meet Media Coordinator Jennifer Pohl, the club is bringing the Fun Meet back after previously having one at their old building in the Tisdale Mall.

“It’s always a fun way for our athletes at the end of the year to compete and have fun,” Pohl said.

Gymnasts from clubs in Nipawin, Prince Albert, and Saskatoon will be there to participate in the fun meet. Pohl said it’s a way to bring everyone together without the pressure.

Not only is the meet a way for the gymnasts to get together for a fun day to close out the season, Pohl said they also are going to use it as somewhat of a fundraiser for the club.

“Any little thing helps,” Pohl told northeastNOW. “We just thought this would be a good way to showcase our club, and raise a bit of money as well.”

The event runs at the club from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will open with gymnasts aged between five and nine, as well as the active start gymnasts, and the bronze level CanGym program. The second portion will have the junior olympic gymnasts, advanced recreational gymnasts, and those aged 10 and older. The club will also have raffle prizes and a canteen.
