Severe thunderstorm watches issued in central Saskatchewan
Heat warnings were replaced Wednesday by severe thunderstorm warnings and watches in some areas of central Saskatchewan.
Environment Canada said just after 11 a.m., that a line of thunderstorms had prompted warnings for areas around Kinistino, Nipawin, Aylsham, Choiceland, White Fox, Gronlid and Fairy Glen.
That warning was lifted just after 11:30 a.m. However, severe thunderstorm watches were issued for regions around Hudson Bay, Porcupine Plain, Kamsack, Canora, Preeceville, Melfort and Tisdale.
“Thunderstorms have developed along a surface warm front,” the advisory said. “Thunderstorms are expected to continue to develop and track east throughout the afternoon hours and move into Manitoba later this afternoon.”
