Talk to your kids about strangers, Tisdale RCMP say after alleged abduction attempt
After an alleged attempted child abduction in Tisdale, the RCMP are reminding parents to have discussions with children regarding safety around strangers.
RCMP said they received a report saying a man in a white truck offered two young girls candy and a ride home July 30. The girls declined the offer without incident, police said, though extensive patrols failed to locate the suspect.
Sgt. Daryl Andrusiak told northeastNOW it’s important to have strategies for how children interact with strangers, though he noted such incidents are “a rare occurrence.”
Andrusiak said it’s important to be clear with children about what a stranger is.
