The Rural Municipality of Torch River is looking for a new administrator.

Nathalie Hipkins handed in her resignation making her final day Sept. 7. Assistant Administrator Tracy Whitrow will assume the role on an interim basis until a replacement is hired.

Jerry Kindrat, Reeve for the RM of Torch River, said the reason for Hipkins’ resignation was to move on from a different chapter in her life.

“It was unexpected,” Kindrat said. “We did talk extensively for a brief time, nothing personal. There was an opportunity surfaced for a job closer to her family and for personal reasons she accepted the offer.”

Kindrat wants to thank Hipkins on behalf of the RM of Torch River for her dedicated work as administrator, saying she put her personality into the role and took it seriously and professionally.

Applicants looking to be the new RM of Torch River administrator must have at least a Rural Class 'C' Certificate in Local Government Administration.

In the meantime Kindrat said locals can still call the office for anything, as it’s still business as usual.
