Saskatchewan’s New Beach Radio gives you summer all year long

May 17, 2019 | 7:49 AM

A new and fun listening experience as we head into the warm summer months in Saskatchewan.

Beach Radio launched Friday morning from the Jim Pattison Broadcast Group (JPBG) studio in Melfort.

Known as CK750 since 2002, Saskatchewan’s new Beach Radio will be your destination for great music while being plugged into happenings in Melfort and the rest of the province.

Beach Radio will boast hits from the 1980s and ’90s while making you feel as if you’ve boarded a plane and are enjoying a warm holiday throughout the year.

Listeners can also tune in anywhere they have an internet connection at beachradiosk.ca for an enhanced beach radio experience with better sound quality, according to JPBG General Manager for Saskatchewan Karl Johnston.

“We believe beachradiosk.ca will quickly become a favorite for app and online listening,” Johnston said.

Station Manager Linda Rheaume said it was time for the station to freshen up.

“The ’80s and ’90s is a huge format, after country, it’s one of the most popular in Saskatchewan,” Rheaume said. “We think this format will be loved by people of Saskatchewan, and we think the change will be a welcome change and a fresh new sound for our station.”

Beach Radio morning show host Dave Baker said he could not be more excited to be part of bringing this exciting format to his dedicated listeners.

“We’re kicking off the first official long weekend of summer with some tunes that are really going to make you feel like cranking it up and head to the beach,” Baker said.

Glimpses of CK750 will still exist on Beach Radio, with news and sports information, Melfort Mustangs hockey and the Saskatchewan Roughriders broadcast.
