Garden River residents frustrated with rising crime
Ratepayers in the Rural Municipality (RM) of Garden River north of Prince Albert are growing frustrated over a recent surge in criminal activity.
The RM’s council met Monday morning and Reeve Ryan Scragg told paNOW that a letter outlining safety concerns from residents has been drafted and will be sent to the provincial and federal ministers of justice.
Scragg explained a series of break-ins and thefts started last week; among the items taken were an ATV and a truck and trailer.
“Then on Friday night we actually had an armed home invasion. One of our residents had someone in his home in the middle of the night.”
