Melfort RCMP investigating morning shooting

Melfort RCMP are currently investigating a shooting that took place early Tuesday morning. At around 12:20 a.m., police received reports of a shooting on 1 Ave. South in Melfort.

Further investigation determined that a fight took place between a group of people, resulting in a pair of injuries.

During the fight, a firearm went off, with two men later being taken to hospital. One of the men is dealing with serious injuries, while the other suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Melfort RCMP are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with any information or those who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in town around the time of the incident to contact them.
