Wellness Centre officially opens

A decade long vision was officially celebrated Tuesday night in Melfort with the ribbon cutting of the new Wellness Centre.

The 8,500 square foot facility adjacent to the hospital houses the city’s 12 doctors as well as a pharmacy. Mayor Rick Lang said the $6-million project wouldn’t be possible without regional support,

“These municipal partners had the wisdom and the foresight to willingly step forward to help ensure its success,” he said.

Dr. Robert Degelman was part of the original advocacy committee a decade ago when plans for the centre originated. He said the goal was to centralize healthcare in the northeast.
