Plans progressing on massive agri-facility in Nipawin
According to the executive vice-president of the Hanfood Group, plans remain on schedule for the opening of a new agriculture-food park facility in Nipawin in the fall of 2019.
Jack Upshall confirmed for northeastNOW pre-construction work will begin early in 2018.
“Pre-construction involves preparing the land for construction, determining the nature and extent of the sub soil and drainage and land usage,” he said.
The Nipawin project, announced in 2015, will consist of a 46,000 tonne grain and oilseed terminal, located on the old wooden elevator site in the town. The facility will be capable of filling 134 rail cars in 12 hours or less.
