Humboldt Chamber of Commerce celebrates local business community

The Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual mark of excellence awards and asking the public to recognize those who have had an excellent year.

Nominations for all categories must be submitted in person or online by Jan. 31 for those looking to ensure their favourite business owners are recognized.

Brent Fitzpatrick, the executive director, said the awards are given to recognize all of the diligent work in Humboldt and surrounding areas.

“It is a way for people to nominate businesses they feel that excelled at their jobs in the previous years. its a way of saying jobs well done”

After two years of online ceremonies, the gala will be held in person on March 30 at 7:00 p.m.

“It will be a smaller event taking place at the Bella Vista Inn. We are planning some fun stuff this year to make it a little bit special and unique.”

For those wanting to attend, tickets will go on sale next week. Seating will be limited to 125 people and proof of vaccination is required to dine in.

The event will also offer opportunities for businesses to network with one another.

“It’s a lot of fun and it’s a great place to connect because the people in that room are all business people and friends. It’s a great place to get caught up on what’s happening.”

Each award has specific guidelines for businesses and non-profits in the area.

• Community Involvement (City of Humboldt)
• Entrepreneur of the Year (Sponsored by Sagehill Community Futures Development Corp.)

• Safety Leadership Award (Sponsored by WorkSafe Saskatchewan)
• Marketing Award (CJVR/Beach Radio)
• New Business Venture Award (Sponsored by Humboldt Journal)
• Service Award (Hergott Farm Equipment)
• Adaptive Business Award
• Business Hall of Fame Inductee (Sponsored by RBC)

Those wanting to submit a nomination can call the chamber office at (306) 682-4990 or send an email to admin@humboldtchamber.ca. Nomination forms can also be picked up in person at the Humboldt & District Chamber of Commerce office.
