Trojans, Outback Thunder, Wolfpack hockey roundup

The Tisdale Trojans are still looking for their first win of the season after a 5-1 loss to the Saskatoon Blazers Friday night. 

Kash Elke scored the lone Tisdale goal, and Karter Hilbig made 31 saves in the loss. 

The 0-4 Trojans make a return visit to face the Blazers on Thursday.

In the PJHL, the Carrot River Outback Thunder have fallen to 0-4 on the season after two home losses on the weekend. 

They fell 4-2 to the Prince Albert Timberjaks on Friday, with both goals from Brayden Church. 

Hunter Nakonechny stopped 51 shots for the Outback Thunder, who lost 6-2 to the Saskatoon Quakers on Saturday. 

Ethan McLean and Nolan Holmen scored for Carrot River, with Nakonechny making 30 saves. 

Carrot River returns to action Saturday as they take on the Southern Rebels before heading to Regina to face the Capitals on Sunday.

The North East AA Wolfpack split their season-opening games on the weekend. 

They beat the North West Stars 3-1, with Jonathan Friesen scoring a pair and Nixon Coleman adding the final tally. 

Kane Huston made 39 saves in the win. 

The Saskatoon Riverkings dumped the Wolfpack 9-2 on Sunday. 

Jonas Markwart and Nixon Coleman had the goals for the Wolfpack. 

Rylan Bank made 32 saves, and Huston stopped one of two shots he faced. 

The Wolfpack will host the Saskatoon Crunch in Melfort on Saturday and hit the road to take on the Sabercats in Saskatoon on Sunday.
