Nipawin cannabis store to start construction, have targeted opening date

After finding a location which follows the zoning bylaw restrictions, the cannabis store in Nipawin is set to begin construction.

The cannabis store, set in a former medical clinic in Nipawin’s inner downtown core, will begin the demolition process this week.

Neil Sasakamoose from the Battlefords Agency Tribal Chiefs (BATC), who’s partnered with GTec Holdings in owning the cannabis permit, told northeastNOW the construction won’t be a big factor.

“One of the added issues for us all the time is getting approval from liquor and gaming,” Sasakamoose said. “Conforming to the requirements of the construction build.”

Sasakamoose said BATC and GTec Holdings have all their permits in order and plans for the building designed, but don’t want to reveal the name of the store until they know when construction will be complete.
